Boogie animation WIP

An animation WIP. I've been listening to the band "fun." all week, so that's why I'm jamming. :) I tried doing overlap with the hair but it wasn't working, so I need to try it again. Any other critiques would be appreciated. :)

Man, I've been animating like crazy lately. How uncommon of me!

We roll tonight to the guitar bite!

My submission for ToiletRice this week. I had spent most of yesterday afternoon animating The Hipster and the Gnomes, so I sort of forgot about it until last minute. Even though I had a shit ton of material this past week, I couldn't come up with anything in terms of a comic, so while I was jammin' to my tunes... this emerged.

It's really rough, only four frames and animated in Photoshop, maybe I'll go back and revisit it but maybe not.

Moleskine pages pt. 1

These are the first 30 pages of my moleskine sketchbook I'm keeping for my Digital Painting class. Media includes pencil, pen, ink, watercolor, acrylic, marker, colored pencil, and post-it-notes.

The blue and orange boxer puppy is my favorite.

And OK I actually really like the hardcover moleskine sketchbooks a lot. I used the larger ones with the thinner paper for my Illustration sketchbook and didn't like them, but the hardcover ones with the thicker paper are wonderful. I just wish they weren't so expensive!!

Alright, I've got a comic to make for ToiletRice. Later gators!

"Chips" concept art

Some character concept art for Chips, my final animatic for last semester. Except the last one. That's me as a cowboy. I was a cowboy for Halloween.

Yep!

Free Sketches!

Sketches that were free!

Not actual free sketches. Sorry. I'm a moneymongerer. I demand moneys for art. This was a one-time thing. Anyway here's three sketches I did for some DA folks:

Baby baby.

I need to stop drawing everything facing to the left.

Four more icon commissions I got in the past couple days. The first two are for the same person. :)

Ghost Doggies in the Sky

Another two-hour painting. I really wanted to paint a dog skeleton, but then it was just a boring ol' skeleton... so I made him a ghost doggie. I tried to play around with the lighting but I don't know if light passes through a ghost...?

IT'S NOT CHEATING I SWEAR.

Also this:
Just a 15-minute thing I did at the end of class. :)

My one-hour painting for today (it was actually more like 2 hours but whatever). Used this as a reference. Hope you like it!

One-hour portrait

"Sir Ian Sir Ian Sir Ian YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!! Sir Ian Sir Ian..."

Did this portrait in (roughly) 1 hour for Digital Painting today. It was very enjoyable.

Fun Fact: Sir Ian McKellen is my crazy awesome gay grandpa in my Dream Family.

Textures are from here.

Digital Painting - Hedwig

The lovely Miss Hedwig from one of my favorite movies ever. :)

For digital painting this week, the assignment was to paint using textures. I use two here, one I got from here (the background) and another I made myself with acrylic paint (the foreground texture). I also used a screenshot from Hedwig and the Angry Inch as a photo reference.

Yay!
