Elements Concept Art

The first and second stages of our final assignment for Digital Painting. We had to pick three different time periods/eras/themes and create an environment and character based on the themes. My themes were California, futurism, and (ancient) Greek. I kind of cheated and used one of my pre-existing characters (Neo, aka Neon from Elements) and location, but it was good to develop them more fully. I know I'll get marked down for it, though; I'm pretty sure the professor isn't very fond of my work...

Anyway, we're supposed to take the color concepts and put them together in a final image. It'll be interesting to say the least.

Any preferences on time of day or any of Neo's outfits?

"eXiled - New Generation" headshots

Been doodling in my digital sketchbook and managed to draw up some old characters of mine from my old OLLLLDD story concept. Well, the sequel to the old old story concept. Which is also old. But not as.

Anyway, meet my babies!

Alan Cook

So I was looking for How to Train Your Dragon art on Google last night and found this guy instead:

http://cookedart.blogspot.com/

Go check him out, he is seriously awesome.

In other news, I do not have class today and I'm going to be working diligently on my Toilet Rice submission, my animation for Philo's class (it's due tomorrow), and other stuff! It will be splendid. And then I am going to the first meeting of the Milwaukee Animation Group, so hopefully I'll meet some totally awesome people!

But first I am going to go to McDonald's with my friends and we're going to get Happy Meals and HTTYD toys because we're children. :)

How To Train Your Dragon

Hey guys!

Sorry about the lack of art these past couple days. Took the weekend off for Easter to go see my aunt. We saw "How To Train Your Dragon" together and LOVED IT!! This was the first movie I saw in 3D, too, and that was pretty cool. I loved all the characters in the movie, and I'm looking forward to doing some fanart. Here's a quick warm-up sketch of Astrid:

A lot of people thought she was plain and one-dimensional but I liked her. And the twins! I'm totally drawing them next. C:

In the meantime I AM working on some pretty cool stuff, including a hand-drawn animation! Haven't seen one of those in a while, hehe. Hipster and the Gnomes is kind of slowing down, unfortunately... we've come to the conclusion that we're probably not going to finish it by end of semester, but we're hoping to work on it over the summer on and off and finish it eventually.

Yep, lots of fun end-of-semester stuff coming, stay tuned!
